Care that fits your stage of life

Women's mental health can change across different stages of life. Hormonal shifts, reproductive transitions, relationships, work, caregiving, sleep, physical health, and other factors can all affect how you feel.

Navia Psychiatry provides personalized virtual psychiatric care for women throughout Washington State. Care is provided directly by Dr. Shirin Vartak, DO, a psychiatrist board-certified in Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

You won't be passed between rotating clinicians. Dr. Vartak sees every Navia patient herself, with longer visits designed to understand not only your symptoms, but the larger picture around them.

Psychiatry that considers the whole picture

Psychiatric care can be most useful when there is enough time to understand how symptoms, medical history, medications, hormones, sleep, stress, and life stage fit together.

At Navia, treatment begins with a careful evaluation. Dr. Vartak works with you to understand what has changed, what you have already tried, what matters most to you, and how you feel about different treatment options.

Your plan may include medication, psychotherapy recommendations, sleep or lifestyle strategies, coordination with another physician, or a combination of approaches.

Medication is never the automatic answer. When medication is appropriate, the goal is to make a thoughtful decision together after discussing potential benefits, risks, alternatives, and your preferences.

How care works

  1. 01

Start with a free fit consultation

Schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation to learn more about Navia and determine whether the practice may be a good fit for what you're looking for. This is a brief conversation about fit, not a clinical evaluation or treatment.

  2. 02

    Meet with Dr. Vartak

Your initial evaluation includes time to discuss your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, medications, previous treatments, life circumstances, and goals. Reproductive or hormonal concerns may be best served by the extended evaluation, and Dr. Vartak can advise during your fit consultation.

  3. 03

    Leave with a clear plan

Dr. Vartak will discuss her assessment and recommendations with you. Depending on your needs, this may include medication, psychotherapy, coordination with another physician, or suggested medical evaluation or laboratory testing to discuss with your other healthcare providers.

  4. 04

    Continue care when needed

Follow-up visits are scheduled based on your symptoms, treatment plan, and progress.
